games with multiple character perspectives on the same events

i was going to title this "Rashomon" but that would be quite incorrect as most of these games do not have unreliable narrators and most present a definitive "correct" narrative. still, that was the inspiration!! recommendations are welcome

btw this is a bit arbitrary but these have to be the same events and not just different things happening in the same world to different protagonists, so stuff like Octopath Traveler doesn't really fit here, but RE6 does because it's all the same crisis. Also will not be putting games like Romancing SaGa where the protagonist choice doesn't really make much of a difference.

I'd argue MOTHER 3 does count (to a limited extent) because toward the beginning of Salsa's chapter you see the scene where he bumps into Duster from his perspective (and in Duster's chapter preceding it you see that scene from Duster's perspective). You also see the scene where Butch hides the money from both perspectives.

@archagent that's true but it's the linearity of it that gets to me a little, doesn't feel like it belongs as really being different perspectives and more like these characters meeting for a bit. but I guess that would also disqualify Breath of Fire IV, so I might actually remove it too...

@archagent actually you know what i'm gonna include both in the list and make a note for Mother 3 i think you're right

Good list, I believe Scarlet Nexus, Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut, and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir fit here as well.

@LoreW001 i'd seen those suggested around the internet but wasn't sure if they would qualify, it seems they do so thanks!

You probably have enough Sonic but Sonic Rush is another one. Tales of Xillia too.

@killbutt oh i like getting new suggestions it's fine!! also weird how i didn't think of sonic rush when it really fits here, adding those two!

Alan Wake 2 has two protagonists who influence each other’s story. One, Alan, is writing their way out of being trapped in a lake while the other, Saga Anderson, is written in by Alan to be the story’s protagonist and has to navigate the reality changing effects of Alan’s writing

@daymannightman i'm avoiding spoilers for AW2 but i feel that's quite different, like a bit why i won't put Dream Drop Distance in this list because the world mechanics do not really make what they experience the "same events"
