Im not done yet but im almost there, so i wanted to get this review in real quick.

Really solid game! I dont really have any complaints, i love the art direction and the animations are so fun and dramatic. Maybe i wish we could customize our shop a little more? Regardless super cute and solid game and def worth the price and playing!

Solid 50/50 on this game. If it hadnt taken out so many features of the first game, with the updated graphics, it mightve been a lot better, but these companies always simplify the hell out of these games so that they can sell more dlc later.

Also the floating quest markers are a real eyesore, and i feel like theres not a lot of freedom.

I added this game just so i could review it lol.

I love this game it's the perfect thing to play on my second monitor while i'm working because it's so slow paced and relaxed. The fish are adorable and i love how streamlined i can make the process of buying/selling/locking/naming fish. The pixel art style is one i haven't seen for aquarium games and it works super well.

All in all this is an adorable niche little indie game that's worth the play. You might not get endless hours on it but it's super cute and addicting! Gets a little boring after a while but hey what can i say it's an idle game that's kind of the point.

This game had me hooked right from the start with its immersive life simulation and captivating characters. Like full ADHD hyperfixation didn't move from my bed for 10 hours bones sore from lack of movement full iPad kidding it at my switch.

The art and world-building are stunning, offering deep lore and plenty of discovery. It's definitely designed for replayability, with subsequent playthroughs offering new paths and challenges in a super, super cool way to me... However, there are a few gripes.

The endings feel too generic compared to the engaging gameplay. Some plot twists in the epilogue seem to come out of nowhere, like suddenly falling in love with a character with little foreshadowing. The pacing also feels slightly off, with important plot points sometimes happening abruptly. While the game captures the feeling of helplessness well, it can leave character plotlines feeling underdeveloped.

Despite these issues, the world lore is incredibly rich and immersive, making the fictional planet feel like it's been around for longer than the game. However, the character writing doesn't always match up to the world-building. Despite its flaws, I was drawn in by the intense world-building and emotional impact of the game. The card game was enjoyable, but I was left disappointed by some incomplete storylines and lackluster romances. Regardless, I'm def gonna play again because its beautiful. And the music!!!!

TLDR; Bought it for the puppy boy, stayed for the childhood ptsd simulator

"Oh damn i didn't realize this was one of those anti-fun games. My bad. Forgot this game was made as a punishment to me specifically."

continues to gleefully play another 300 hrs

Jokes aside Its not that hard it just takes a lot of tries and grinding if you're not used to the style of game. That just means you can have months and months of consistent new gameplay if you keep at it though, which is cool for a videogame nowadays. I have 70hrs and I haven't even gotten the first great rune yet. (Get good?)
The atmosphere is gorgeous and the open world is really something special. I love the walking mausoleums. Great game, I'm glad i didn't have anything spoiled for me before i played. Lots of jaw dropping moments.
Sometimes the fighting feels like it was designed specifically to be frustrating but honestly I'm pretty sure thats a feature not a downside for most players of this game. For me its definitely a downside because i like my games to be relaxing but its just a personal preference.

This game is a perfect cozy game to spend a weekend on. I will say theres not much content so its hard to get a ton of hours in on it, but its adorable and well made. The style is so cute that it made me want to start a little sticker shop of my own. Definitely play this game!

Update: I literally cant stop thinking about this game its been months

This is the best looking sims game to date, but the stingyness that EA is having with it really annoys me. It has half as much content in the base game as the sims 3 did, and then they release the rest of the content in very small lackluster expansion packs that cost the same amount as the much bigger packs released for the sims 3. So thats pretty annoying.

I am really happy with the inclusivity in the newer updates though. Good stuff, complicated feelings on this game but generally i like it.

I wish there was a more satisfying ending / more purpose to those humming stones everywhere and a couple of the fetch quests, but other than that the game was amazing. I just wish it was longer.

Beautiful art, spooky monsters that weren't overwhelmingly scary, good pacing, pretty good music, and it kept me interested in the story the whole time. It was a good mix of cozy and interesting. I love the art direction the most for sure though. I wish there were more games like this!

My least favorite genre of games are those that take themselves so seriously as to imply the player must be stupid. The game hypes up a very high intensity mystery throughout the whole game, and intentionally leaves you feeling lost, confused, and disappointed. All in an attempt to make an "intellectual" videogame.

Firewatch was supposed to be a groundbreaking narrative about escapism. Despite that intention, i still had to google what the ending meant, because there were so many loopholes and loose ends that i didn't quite believe that it was the end. Example: Why was Delilah talking to someone else on the radio in the beginning of the game, saying "yeah... he doesnt know."? I'm pretty sure its just another loose end put in to make you trust that the story is going to have a better ending than it did.

It seems like the people who made it, don't like the medium of games at all, and wanted to "improve" the medium.
Firewatch wants to disappoint you. Some may argue that you're not supposed to like the ending, and i think thats dumb.

Games are meant to be enjoyed, and can be cruel or sardonic without feeling like a waste of time. See: Portal 2, or The Stanley Parable, or Inscryption.

Putting aside my irritation, it can be played in one day, and its pretty fun during the gameplay despite it being a walking simulator. The layout of the map is really well done and i didn't get lost despite my horrible sense of direction, so that was nice. The scenery is also beautiful, and the dialogue was well written, the characters had great chemistry.

The entire philosophy of this game might be a spit in the face to videogames, but the actual gameplay before the ending was good.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this game, but as far as wastes of times go, its not the worst in the world.

Finally got around to playing this. Its cute, one of the very first absurd games i played when i was younger and now 'whacky games that break the rules of storytelling' is one of my favorite genres. Worth the play.

Its lovely, and can be played through in one sitting. Definitely worth a play.

Its a really cute game for kids but it lacked all the personality the original iterations had. Maybe its just the nostalgia making me look back on it fondly, but i found this game to be lacking a lot of the aspects that made me love the originals.

Controversial take but it might be slightly overrated. I tried really hard to play this game for as many hours as i could, but i burnt out significantly faster than i did while playing Dragon Age Inquisition. I really like making characters and interacting with the NPCs, who do have very in depth lore and personality, but the game can drag on at times. Combat can get very repetitive.

Great game, beautiful atmosphere, super cool art direction. Unique concept.

Characters are pretty bland and without personality, very little character customization, very little things to make this game worth picking up and playing again after your first experience with it.

Overall, its aight, but i liked my time with it.

Ok this is gonna sound lame but bare with me.

I have adhd, and actually complete games' main story maybe 10% of the time. But i finished TOTK after 60 hours and currently am about to hit 100 hours.
Despite the fact that i abandoned breath of the wild after maybe 30 hours, there is something wonderful about this game that makes me keep coming back for more every day. The world is breathtaking and massive, the story was heart wrenching, the final battle blew my mind. It was absolutely out of this world.

This game is incredibly hyped for a reason. Just so addicting with seemingly infinite quests and new characters to discover. Im sure ill get sick of it soon, but right now im just very impressed.
