I've finally beat this game, and honestly, I think I've come to realise why I never beat it before, in all honesty it might be a little bloated. Maybe 'bloated' is the wrong word, but it took me, like, 27 hours to finish this game, and I remember maybe 10? It's got a lot of running in a straight line and repeating tasks and stuff you won't remember any time outside of in the moment, but this might just be a personal gripe because I'm used to blasting through games like this in a weekend.
The other issue is one of hindsight, in some ways it's a hard game to play now just because of how influential it's been over the last 20+ years.

Anyway, unsirprisingly the game is good, great even! Each area feels unique, it's got a couple of moments of really stand-out art design and--
Is any of this even worth saying? Like, I made sure to start with the weaknesses because this is maybe the most praised game ever, and for good reason, it's a fantastic game.
I'm excited, and a little nervous, to play Majora again, because now having played this I wonder how I'll feel about that game.

I'm torn between an 8 and a 9, I really want to stick it on 8.5, but I suppose I'll low-ball it and maybe change it after playing Majora again.
Glad I've finally experienced all of this piece of history!!

Fantastic and refined platforming mechanics, a great soundtrack and a solid story.

I'm not sure why this game is quite as loved as it is, after playing Cuphead I tried this and thought that, like with that game the clunk would wear off as I played.
It doesn't.

A perfect sequel, and another brilliant addition to Valve's catalogue.

The perfect short-but-sweet game that doesn't outstay it's welcome, a truly innovative title that arguably changed the face of gaming.

Why is it so hard to do things in this game Nintendo.
My second favourite zeldy

Ok let's be honest with ourselves, there's a few redundant levels in here, but this game was truly revolutionary in ways people still don't appreciate.

This game didn't deserve the ridiculous amount of love it got at launch but it doesn't deserve the hate it gets now, this is a great game, on the same level as Uncharted 3, but the incongruity of cutscenes and gameplay and the times when the game slows down do pull the game down somewhat.

We got to see Snake fight Isabelle, what more could you want?

2016

A near-perfect mix of old and new game design philosophies. And a near-perfect shooter, and what a score!

A great adaptation that doesn't feel like it's trying to tie into anything else, the gameplay is great, the story is great, the DLC is a little weak but just don't buy it, a must-play for PS4

What the fuck why is this game so good? How did it manage to make a zombie game, and moreover a Resident Evil game (that isn't 7) scary?
I don't know why this game exists but I'm glad it does.

With Bloodborne, FromSoft found the perfect balance with their signature difficulty, between toughness and actually being fun. For this reason, this is the best DS game, with the best gameplay, best art design and best everything in the series.

The original (good) looter-shooter and the best one too. This game is really only as good as it is when played in coop, the amazing villain somewhat carries it in single player but as the writing has aged it no longer cuts it.

This game was a revelation for me, and to this day is very important to me.
