not really a crossover game and more like a marriage of the two franchise's tones and eccentricity. Absolutely bizarre often off-putting but always in the best, most engaging ways

subtle colors and minimalist shapes and textures come together really well for a very moody, delightful platformer

When the Gunstar Heroes ending theme played while Astro Boy flew into the sun I cried

Cool golf puzzler that's nice to pick up and play. The HD rumble makes a golf-club swinging noise and I like that. HD Rumble's cool like that.

bullet hell with a cool melee attack gimmick but it's one of the uglier entries in the genre and just not as fun or engrossing as other genre entries. It doesn't ease you into the difficulty very well at all and was definitely made for genre purists.

the combination of high speeds gunplay and super-aggressive super meter tech makes for an insanely addictive shooter that I constantly go back to. Literally the only reason this isn't a 10/10 is because some of the bosses in the last few levels feel entirely luck-based.

It's top-down Metal Slug. Metal Slug is good. Shock Troopers is good. Go play Shock Troopers.

edit - After playing Shock Troopers 1 and I can conclude the other one is indeed much closer to Metal Slug and also better

That said I don't get why people say this one's garbage. Even if it's not as stylistically good it still plays pretty well

It's just a good platformer. No-frills good platforming. In paris. With cool cel-shaded noir flair.

And the guard dogs in the casino level do a little strut while they're walking, it's really funny, I like that level a lot

It's a hard fighter but the sheer amount of tech and playstyle variance each character has makes losses much easier to stomach since there's always a new approach you can take

Actually just genuinely unironically the best video game ever made

It has some good qol improvements to OG Gunstar and it's the complete posterchild for raw GBA visual FX but man it feels so half-finished and it's got too many gimmicks that take away from the core shooting instead of enriching it

still a nice time tho

it's too slow-paced and with the exception of case 4, it never has the same sense of emotional investment that makes OG Ace Attorney so good

Man this game's a MESS but the ambiance and tone is my favorite of the AA series and its intro case is my favorite non-final case in the series too

Shame that Apollo and Trucy kinda don't do anything in this game tho

The only time a lawyer can cry is when it's all over
