These are a list of games that I personally believe fall under the category of "Games that emo kids (particularly the 2000s scene/myspace era variety) love and anything with adjacent vibes and not from that era". I'm gonna add more to this list over time and update notes so if some games are missing notes just be patient I'm lazy.

Tetsuya Nomura inspired an entire generation of AMV makers with this fucking game and I applaud him for it. My childhood was never the same and neither was everyone else's. It goes without saying that the storyline around Roxas and his connection to Sora is great esp when you have the realization that everyone in Org. XIII is a scene kid representing each genre under the HxC umbrella. (Source: Dude trust me)
Square asked "How do we make Kingdom Hearts more geared towards the emos?" and a humble executive rose from the trashcan he was hiding in and said "Make a whole game that is just Roxas dicking around with his emo friends!" There's a loooooot of crossover when it comes to the fashion culture of Shibuya in the 2000s and in the west so this game is kinda a no-brainer. Bonus points for Nomura.
I'm so sorry but as a person who loves DMC (4 is my favorite) this game goes way too hard for what it is. I know it represents something evil and twisted but also its way too fucking edgy in a fun way for me not to adore it. This was the absolute shit when I was an edgy teen and I'll never stop replaying it.
I feel like this game is more adjacent to mallgoths and former babygoths than emos but its the closest thing to a videogame adaptation of Underworld (Ignore the Uwe Boll movie of this one though).

This is probably the most RAWR XD game in existence. You play as adorable aliens and brutally kill humans, and there is a crude cutesey artstyle to boot that really makes you feel like you are playing out the fantasies of a teenager in 2004 blasting deathcore on their 5gb ipod while ignoring their teacher. Okay maybe I'm projecting slightly.
