HIS WIFE IS DEADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

People who say this game is the hardest thing ever don't realize how you can do more in this game than just shoot forward. The arenas allow you to approach, move, and attack in a variety of different ways that make the encounters so much easier to handle than one would think. In any case, this is a classic for a reason. It has a strong feel, a wonderfully charismatic lead, a great look, and plenty of bang bang shoot em variety that any classic boomer shooter fan can enjoy

Less solid than the first but I appreciate everything they did to try and flesh it out.

STRONG ASS GAME, VERY VARIED LEVELS OF CONTENT

HA FIRST TO REVIEW THIS! Fantastic game with some of the best writing you'll ever find in the franchise that unfortunately peters out with annoying challenges and super drawn-out stages towards the end. Stay for the writing, but prepare for exhaustion with the game play. Might not be the best game for you if you are an L-Gaim or Layzner fan.

The gameplay is very unpolished and frankly, I feel like this game made me realize how much DMC 2 likely had Kamiya design notes lying around. It is very ambitious, but it definitely felt like Kamiya's first time designing a hack n slash since 2001 and it showsssssssssssss. The story also really needed to get out of DMC 1's shadow. It did comedy and wacky antics a lot better than being serious, but the Bayo and Jeanne writing was on point and saved the game at points. The game is designed for multiple replays, but beware of the long long longggggg levels.

Even though there are parts of this game I hate with a burning passion, this is not a lie when I say, this game is one of the greatest achievements in the history of Sega and a masterclass of storytelling within the medium that everyone should try to play.

2018

A wonderful experience I'll keep cracking at for ages to come.

Truly the most Castlevania to ever Castlevania a Castlevania. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to Castlevania all of Castlevania at once. This is your answer. This is the Castlevania to go at the exact perfect rate for Castlevania. Recommened play after you haven't played Castlevania mainline games for a long time or are a new comer to the franchise

This game is very good and I wouldn't call it bad, but it does intensely show its age in terms of gameplay. It is a very style over substance type deal. If you are able to handle wrestling with the controls and some occasional frustrating as heck level design, then you can get something out of it besides that cool cel-shaded urban experience.

THIS IS PURE VIDEO GAMING! THIS IS THE VIDEO GAMING OF OUR ANCESTORS! YOU KNOW THAT CAVEMAN PART OF YOUR BRAIN THAT KICKS IN AND GIVES YOU MONKEY DOPAMINE! THAT IS THIS GAME BUT FOR VIDEO GAMES! GET IMMERSED IN THIS GRAND-STANDING FAIRY TALE WORLD WHERE YOU SHOW EVERYONE WHO'S BOSS BY RUNNING THEM OVER IN A STREET CAR NAMED ADOL CHRISTAN!

The game plays like a spiritual successor to Rising Zan Samurai Gunman, and I mean this in the best possible way. It shows its age a lot, but it is still a fun time that you can grind out in 20 hours flat and get the full experience out too. The story can be dry, but there is a lot to it due to the interesting arc Travis goes through if you read between the lines. Until the narrative falls flat on its face for the sake of the parody in the last two major fights. But oh well Travis's character arc was finished by the Rank 2 fight and these layers will only exist to weird you out, and the game advises you to ignore them so. Whatever in the end. Just have a good time buds

I never felt more proud and more disappointed when I beat Geese Howard with a perfect on my first try

It is a brilliant, fun, stylish, and action-packed experience. The gameplay while being something you'll probably get tired of at some point, is something you'll always crave to come back to. You just get so wrapped up in this dynamic and fun telling of the Sengoku era, you'll always find yourself wanting more. Capcom should bring the series back and give it to the west too. There is a lot of stuff here for fans of the musuo genre and Capcom brand action!

Gold Golem should've become a bigger mascot for the franchise. It is a very good experience and worth whatever means you get it for, it only scores so low because of how much it has aged, but still, I highly recommend playing it... albeit with a guide
