You ever feel held by a videogame?
Playing this felt like releasing a good sigh

Absolutely perfect at what it is, but I do wish there were a few more levels to extend the story naturally. What about the kid growing up and moving out? Retirement downsizing? There are potential other levels and it stops a little short for me. But I loved every minute!

2021

Performance issues are the only thing which keep this from being a 5 star game for me.
This is Breath of the Wild if it had a simple and emotionally compelling story. What I loved most was forming Sable's identity, exploring the various roles people play in this universe and determining which was best for her. The quests are charming, the landscape unique and interesting, style and music lovely. And the bike! Love the bike! Climbing things is thrilling and astounding just as it is is BOTW, too, which is a thing I rarely encounter in games. Who doesn't love a good climb!?
However, by god there were some tense moments while climbing moving objects because this game will toss you all over the place, glitch you in and out, drop you indiscriminately. The performance is usually ok, but really poor in indoor environments in particular. If a patch fixes these in the future, I would love to revisit this and pick a different mask in the end :)

I loved it until I had to stop playing because I could tell I was genuinely addicted to it, the endless looping grinding.
A really engaging change on the typical roguelike formula, and the satisfaction of just barely scraping by and making it to the campfire is so good.
This being said, it is very simple and sadly pretty shallow when all is said and done. There were clear opportunities for it to expand and have more meaningful game mechanics, but it sticks with what its got.

Still a fun time!

played this blackout drunk with an old roommate
The only proper way to play big franchise lego games

Pretty!
More interesting characters!
But bloated and derivative as hell. Endless grinding and gathering quests. Also, it's missing all of the grit and fucked up demon shit that was so interesting and fun in the first game. Sad.

Janky as hell but the rich storytelling and characters make up for it
Every other Dragon Age game is bloated and high on its own farts, though

Not really a fan of the story, but the art direction and music are wonderful. The platforming is really tight and challenging, too!

Every day I wake up wishing I were in these woods

An ethereal experience which stuck with me even if I initially felt like I didn't "get it"

One really fun campaign- genuinely a good replacement for D&D if you play couch co-op with friends

Ive played it 4 times, and each time was utterly enchanting.
Ive beat the dung beetle king 4 times as well, angry each time for holding myself to a standard such that I must beat him

5 stars for art
4 stars for story
