My Dad
Games that I associate with my dad: A player of Call of Duty… and other games. Release order (desc)
75 Games
Texted me before launch to say he bought it and started the campaign
I watched him play this when we got stuck in GA during the COVID lockdowns in March-May of 2020
“I love Frank”
If you ever want to hear someone say “SUPER. HOT.” I know a guy
My dad and I spent forever trying to carry a unique ultra-fast speedboat from a lake to the ocean using thrusters, helicopters, planes, etc (so we could put it in our garage). So many vehicles ruined. Extremely fun.
One of the last games I played through with him before I left home (taking turns)
“Hey come check this out”
shoots dildo into zombie’s eye
shoots dildo into zombie’s eye
Played through taking turns. Incredible game
Like Trials HD but again
The most fun I think I’ve ever had with any game ever in my entire life
Another game that we spent hours playing together trying to beat my uncle’s and cousins’ times
Discovering that there was a secret zombies mode once you beat the campaign was insane. My dad was an STG main
He immediately stomped me to oblivion, even though we had just gotten the game and neither had played it yet
Literally changed our lives
Portal and Half-Life 2 were the highlights
One of the best games my dad ever rented from Blockbuster
Probably the best splitscreen co-op experience I’ve had playing through a game with my dad
The game that started our love of open world driving games (that lives on in Forza Horizon)
He was all about ignoring the missions and fortifying/defending rooms… and beating zombies with a lead pipe
If I recall correctly, my Dad was weirdly amazing at this game and ranked pretty high on the leaderboards
Countless hours of fun for my dad, my brother and I
Sledding and crashing
We would show people the D-Day level and marvel at the amazing graphics
My dad went to the midnight release and brought it in to me while I was asleep. I instantly knew what it was and I got to get up and play with him for a while.
He’d play this non stop but my brother and I hated it
We would do LAN parties with my uncles and cousins
My Dad’s favorite Star Wars game for whatever reason
Probably our most groundbreaking gaming experience. Absolutely mind blowing; we still talk about the experience of the second level/getting the warthog for the first time. He was just telling me how he bought the Xbox specifically for Halo after he saw a video demo at the store.
My dad always tells the story of he and my uncle Dan nearly beating this game over night, until my uncle accidentally erased their save file
The first game my parents ever got me for my birthday
We played through this together on my PS3 in 2013 or 14
The earliest memory I have of any videogame
Lei Wulong main
We have an old home video of him receiving the PlayStation and Tekken and describing it as “my favorite game”
Rediscovered in 2022 on Midway Arcade Origins
Apparently he coded this (possibly ‘Motoman’) to his Commodore 64, and played on NES
