See full review. I don't think a Souls game has been more damaged by fast travel than this one.
Very atmospheric, but almost excessively challenging at times. Neat.
I found this game mostly unremarkable, so I was tempted to write a review that was a parody of the effusive analysis I've seen for it. I'm glad I thought better of it.
My first Dragon Quest game. Very pleasant, but a touch shallow. That can have its own appeal of course.
Fun concepts in here, but the worldbuilding didn't do much for me. Can't point to a flaw, just didn't click.

Some maps in this trilogy pack sorta bothered me, I prefer it when they're vertical and layered (like Paris) and didn't enjoy the abundance flat ones where it felt like multiple levels welded together (like Mumbai). Otherwise, solid as hell stealth game.
This game is practically perfect, so I hate to say that I just find it kinda boring. Flawlessly not for me.
I feel like I should have a lot to say about this game considering how much I disliked it, but the devs had so little time to get it out the door that I can't speak poorly of them. It just could have been better.
Wrote a full review for this one but it bears repeating: this game is so stylish and awesome it's hard to describe, but no one knows it exists. Play it if you love 2D, classic shooters.

Well, this game was a bit of a shambles at launch, but I had a lot of fun with it. Looking forward to Immortal Empires.
This game's pretty wacky, and I can't even tell if it's supposed to be. If you look past the silliness though, the story really isn't great, so I recommend taking it at face value.
Games that start out feeling really serious and slowly dissolve into utter ridiculousness are very close to my heart.
Ahead of its time in terms of charm and structure. Fascinating bit of game design.

After playing Hard Corps and Neo Contra and such, this big nostalgia trip focusing most of its energy on the first couple games was a bit of a letdown. Still great, but it really doesn't feel like it's expanding on 3, more like a reimagination of 1.
The way Peach stares at you from the bottom screen judging your moves is hilarious.
When you compare this game to something like Castlevania 1, you really see how little Ghouls focuses on interesting challenge scenarios, and more on simply demanding that you don't make a single mistake. So, it wasn't as satisfying to beat as I hoped for.
Nowhere near as hard as I had been told, so it ended up feeling a bit bland.
I expected this game to be low-effort, but the stealth system is actually pretty deep and interesting. Why is the level-design so constrictive though? Fun, but yeah, room for improvement.
I love how the game not being scary is a plot point. Basically serviceable, little else to it.
I loved this game, which really surprised me. Being able to choose different ships and combinations of teammates + the real-time strategy element + improved technology from the first game just made it so impressive. I love the concept of small but deep games like this, especially when they're so cutely styled.
I love SNK, but these old Fatal Fury games feel pretty stilted and weighted against the player. Maybe I suck though.
Among the best game-feel on the NES, shame it ended up just being laughably player-hostile. If you play it specifically for that unfair excessiveness though, it does have an enjoyable sense of humor with its cruelty.
The Japanese version of Bayou Billy that isn't excessively hard, it's excessively easy. A technical achievement though.
I remember the GBA version being terrible when I was a kid, so I checked to see if it was just because I sucked at games.

Kicking the shit out of the bots in the Genesis version is my guilty pleasure.
This game works surprisingly well for GBA. That doesn't mean it was a good idea, but they coulda done worse.
