doing something similar to what I did over on my letterboxd where i tried to create a list of movies that were, if not necessarily my favorites, indicators of my general tastes and aesthetic interests, only for games! Generally speaking the thing I tend to be most attracted to in art is boldness. I love witnessing the work of artists who are both allowed and willing to let their freak flag fly and do things that could risk being seen as weird and off-putting. Obviously liking art that's "bold" is kind of a broad and abstract thing so if you want specifics I tend to be really into twitchy action games that rely on both quick reflexes and smart usage of the player's toolkit. I also like talky RPGs with reactive worlds. So much of why I play games is to experience the sensation of being in a place that does not exist, and as such I love games that create strong and evocative settings through both audiovisual and mechanical design. Assuming I'm not creating my own character I tend to be drawn to protagonists with big personalities that manifest mechanically as some sort of signature ability. But perhaps most importantly a good game's gotta have a girl who's weird in it (bonus points if she's also gay)
Obviously not everything is gonna meet all of these criteria and this list is gonna grow and change over time but I feel this is a strong enough baseline :)
