good singleplayer games to play in front of a room of people (maybe at a party)

games i think have that kind of entertainment value and also ideally would make them ask what game it was so they could get it or ask if they could have a go. games that make you cry a lot aren't really eligible by virtue of the risk of bringing the mood down in the room

maybe i'm kinda just making a "good party videogames" list...?

UltraKill is a feast for the eyes when the carnage really gets going, as well as showcasing all the insane shit you can pull off in that game (like punching your own shotgun shells so that they fly faster and explode on contact). I'd also nominate Cuphead, both for the amazing visuals, but also the two-player mode. And it gets pretty exciting when two players get so close to the end of a boss fight, die, then see the boss tracker showing they were this close. It's one of those collective moments of "AUGH, so close!"
@AlphaOne2 YESSS YOU GET IT the "AUGH so close" factor was a factor in some of these games!! idk how i missed ultrakill but i really wish people could have watched my manic attempts at fighting v2. i'm adding both games
love the idea of this list, actually brilliant. i pick up exactly what you're putting down with it

league of legends
@appreciations oh fuck yes. the initial inspiration for this was magfest and also me being remembering being at the birthday parties of classmates in the 2000s and seeing people play really interesting video games. if you ever find yourself at a party or a festival. you know what to bust out

@MagneticBurn death,

((for real though, i'm split on whether to include it bc i've found MOBA gameplay fun to watch and if people saw it played in a social situation they'd probs have a look for a bit, but they wouldn't understand what's going on so would they stay??? i'm leaning on yes since people would end up crowding around the screen and quietly cheering the player on, but i'll continue thinking about it lkjfdlhglkjfgh))
