New Releases Played in 2021
The list of 2021 releases I've played so far. Mostly completed stuff. I don't count anything I played less then an hour unless that actually how long it was to complete (Looking at you Never Yield). I don't tend to bother with games I know are trash already except mainline Pokemon games. Still have some games to play and add. I'll go through this again and change to a GOTY list in January.
Anything after 20 wasn't completed so they were only ranked relative to other uncompleted games. Their current placement doesn't reflect where I'd necessarily place them if completed.

Holy shit the gameplay is incredible. Atmosphere is top notch. The 4th boss and the lead up to it is easily my favorite game moment this year.
I had played metroidvanias before but I only played a 2D Metroid for the first time a month before. It was Super Metroid and I loved it. I managed to squeeze in Fusion right after too and a few hours of Returns. I bring that up to say given a few weeks to think on it, and having played all those for the first time in a short period, I think Dread is the best of those games. The difficulty on normal felt just right and the production values for a 2d Metroid were surprisingly good. Some fantastic boss fights too.
I played the original Skyrim mod this was based on years ago. I knew what I was getting into and that the writing would be good. Even then it blew me away with how well executed it was. I had to tell everyone how good this was because this was something that'd get criminally underplayed if fans didn't.
Wouldn't include a remaster on this list if not for the significant new content. I loved the Bowsers Fury part enough to earn this a spot on its own.
Very short indie game. Has a good style but gameplay doesn't have a lot going for it.
Putting towards the bottom as I haven't finished it yet. Will revisit as its good for MP fun but was a bit disappointed in the state it released in.

Putting towards the bottom as I haven't done enough to consider it finished but even if I had it would be on the lower end but thats mostly because I'm not a huge sports guy. That said I did like the bit of time I spent with it.
