My favorite thing about this site is learning about my fellow gamers. The reviews that stick with me are the ones where the author shares some of their own life. This is hard! Internet culture favors hot takes and recoils at nuance. Taking the time and emotional risk to open up about yourself and how you were affected is a really lovely and commendable thing.

This is just a small selection of some of my favorite reviews on the site, where the reviewers are putting the "journal" into "games journalism."
