might be my fav FE game, i love the laguz, i love ike, the game makes me smile in a way similar to awakening but also different. Awakening is like a candy that you can eat any time and it'll still taste good. Path of radiance is like a meal that's made for you or one you've helped make with someone you care about, its happy and warm and it must be what love feels like.

found out there's an easy mode more than half way through the game....
After re-doing 5 hours of progress and eventually finishing the game...
I could count on one hand the number of times a fire emblem game has made me feel an emotion other than a vague attraction for the pixels on screen (looking directly at titania and lady rhea.) it is a bit embarrassing to say, but killing rudolf and his reveal that he was Alm’s father made me look away from the game for a solid couple minutes feeling a little empty, its expected for the main characters father to die in a fire emblem game... but did it have to be like that? it also made me feel a little stupid since I didn't consider it as a possible reason as to why that boss in particular was unable to attack the protagonist, even going as far as to initiate combat not to attack, but just to be countered by Alm, as if he wanted it to be over quickly. It also didn't help that Alm was one of the few units who could do substantial damage to him since the sword he had equipped did magic damage but was unaffected by the increased magic evasion that the boss had... Alm was the one who dealt the final blow… marking only the second time i've been sad in this sense over a fire emblem game, the other being greil’s death, but that only effected me as hard as it did since I had lost a parent not long before playing path of radiance, and seeing ike watch his father die… rung a little too close for home.
Having your main character kill their own parent unknowingly is something I'm surprised I haven't seen done more, but it also seems like it would be very difficult to do correctly and to convey the kind of weight that would come from something like that. I hope the remake is good. I was really surprised to find out that berkut and rinea were made for the remake and were not in the original, they were all I knew about the remake plus the fact that they seemed important so I had just assumed they'd be here. I’ve used fallen berkut in heroes for a long time and I grinded about 200+ orbs for when his dancer alt first came out, getting quite a few of him and dancer reinhardt. At least in heroes he and rinea can live happily ever after…(lol)

im normal about this game. having nostalgia for something I didn't even play in the past, its like re living a good memory that i never had. The story is weird but its much easier to smile at the character interactions and fun story moments than it is in fates. also has the best feeling FE combat (to me), the crit animations are so satisfying and made it the only FE game I got through without turning off animations.

i'm not quite sure how you mess up the story of a famicom game, but they sure did! gameplay is extraordinary otherwise
