Idk if you're putting a one per franchise rule in place here but I'd also say Super Paper Mario and Skyward Sword would qualify
sticker star is in there because super paper mario was suggest but the consensus was that ss was a bigger departure. i could include skyward sword, yeah. tho zelda by itself being very different (wind waker is already very different from majora's). mm is the most weird one, you know?

mother 3 does make sense actually!! why mmz4 tho? smw2 is only yoshi's island on japan and sunshine is the weirdest 3D mario, even tho i understand your point! rayman 2 was suggested but it seems much like . . . 2D to 3D only?

@Nightblade Rhythm heaven is a good one! kirby is very mutable imo so while i do understand the choice to super star ultra idk if i will include it . . . @letshugbro why apollo justice? The Evil Within 2. Feels so much like overcompensation for the first game that it is technically a sequel in name but everything feels completely disconnected and jarring to play right after the first. Even the same main character has a 180 with how he's written.
I'd say Final Fantasy 8 belongs here.
