@Voodsood I can't believe I forgot about DMC lol. I feel like only DMC1-3 would count, and maybe 4. DMC5 just goes for full on photorealism.

I'd argue to some extent red dead redemption (both 1 and 2) falls into this category. Of course, they mostly go for realism but I feel like the characters at least have this almost painted look to them which helps it not look super uncanny.

@udderchaos25 idk I personally just think those fall under full on photorealism. It's especially noticeable in 2 with it's higher fidelity

Great list! I think all the Life is Strange games are worth a look, but particularly the last one.

@conman I hadn't thought about that, I think some feel a bit cartoonish, ever since the 2D games with digitized actors the aim has been to be as realistic as possible so I'm not sure if I'll count them
