The List of my gaming priorities in 2024 and onwards or, a focused attempt at my backlog

This is a tentative list of everything I want to play in this year (and onwards). And to keep tracking of new releases that interests me. Maybe with small, monthly updates if I want to put anything new before the end of the year.

Will note the games I've beat with the date. After every year the idea is to remove old games and put new ones and make a balance. Beyond that it will work as a blog/journal of some sorts for when I want to vent about games, what I'm playing etc, on the comments section.

Tiers:

Ongoing (1-5): I'm playing right now. Usually it's one or two games except when I start a bunch of games and have problems finishing anything
On hold: Already have a save going. Just not playing it right now (Starts in Mass Effect)
Soon: Games that I want to play next (starts in DQ8)
Later: Something that's on my mind but with lower priority (starts in Suikoden IV)
back-burner: Series/developers I want to play more to finish their catalogue. Lowest priority but eventually will get there. (starts in Atelier TotorI)
Metroidvanias: For a mini-marathon, later in the year. Maybe I will add some more games (starts in Momodora)
Releasing in 2024 (Last on the list but will play it as soon as possible): Games releasing in that year. Of course only the games that I want to play here.

going to play co-op, probably
This is a favorite game from another friend of mine... I've promised I would play it in 2023, when the fan translation came... Welp, 2024 it seems.
Replaying this. Started with a friend, but I don't think he will finish it. Oh well... I want to finish this already.
Need to return this. I was enjoying it.
Part of a serie-wide marathon I'm doing, replaying the FFs I like (I don't like the series that much after X).

Order of replay: 7, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10.

Already replayed 7, 3, 4 and 5.
I've already should have beaten this....
Not a bad game at all, it's just me being lazy.
I'm going to replay this after DQX. DQ is a huge deal for me these days. Simplicity done perfectly.
2024 I will try to beat two more Kiseki games... Slow and steady. One day I'll reach the current release :)
Part of my FF replaying marathon.
I started this last year and was enjoying. It will take quite a bit to return but I will.
I want to get both Suikodens done before Eiyuuden releases.
The OG version is one of my favorite games, pretty hyped to replay it with the fan restoration after DQX and DQVIII.
I'm not so sure I will play the remake and not the original version yet but time will tell.
I want to replay it (first time playing DC ver.) before the second one releases. Still one of my favorites from the last decade. Kojima unchained and unhinged.
Already loved the original so this should be a home run.
I have a save somewhere... Should play at least this Atelier game this year. Already have like, four or five games bought.
Part of my FF marathon. I'm pretty interested with my opinion about this one. The last time I've played it was like 15 years ago.
Representing Vanillaware games I'm yet to play.
Representing old, pre-Demons Souls Fromsoftware games.
Let me see if I can fit this Atelier trilogy anytime soon...

33

After playing I and II recently I'll try to give BOF3 and Dragon Quarter another chance... Didn't liked them when I played years ago.
My first JRPG, in dire need of a replay. Having beaten I and II, and played III and Dragon Quarter it still is my favorite Breath of Fire game.
I want to play this so much but I'll do it in cronological order, it makes more sense. Drakengard wasn't that bad either, great setting and ideas there and one killer OST even if it can be a little too much sometimes.
Started this but didn't clicked with as much. Will eventually play on a mini-marathon of metroidvania games.
March.

Please come to PC...
Maybe a deep dive of Vanillaware games in february, after Persona 3 Reload to play this in 2024? We'll see...
Will play the first one. I don't know if I will get to play this in 2024...
April.

Going to play Suikoden IV and V before this one.
Late 2024:

Most anticipated release of the year. Hashino on a new project, amazing. Looks great too.
I don't know if I will ever return to FFXIV after Endwalker, it feels like a great send-off, but you never know...

Not the remastered per se, but the PC version (I've played the X360 version years ago).
Playing it so I can make it fresh on my mind because Alan Wake 2 is next.

My first update here.
January 2, 2024.

For this first month of the year I'm going to try and beat everything I'm playing before Persona 3 Reload releases. I don't think I will have the time but this should be a good goal to strive overall. The only one I should start in this period is Alan Wake 2.

Added (Jan, 2): 20 Minutes Till Dawn (EGS free game)

January, 25:

Beaten: Spatial Savior Biganger, Alan Wake, Alan Wake II, DQX Offline, Time Wasters.

Added: Spatial Savior Biganger, Time Wasters, Plague's Tale Requiem, Momodora Moonlit Farewell, Hollow Knight, Ender Lillies, Ori 2.

Still some days until Persona 3 releases, and I've beaten quite a bunch of games. I'm going to put some metroidvanias on the list, I've been wanting to play some of them later this year. Alan Wake II was such a great game, better than my expectations that were already quite high. DQX Offline was a pleasant game to play too, I will play DLC/Ver. 2 later though, maybe after I replay DQVIII and DQXI. Plague's Tale 2 I'm considering to play with a friend.

Beaten: We Are Football, GRID Legends, Persona 3 Reload, G-Darius HD, Separate Ways, Metal Slug 1~7, Metal Slug X and XX, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Dropped/removed: Battletoads, 20 minutes Till Dawn

Playing right now: Unsighted (co-op), Starcraft II, Tengai Makyou Zero, A Plague's Tale.

Looking forward to start Odin's Sphere and progress Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Progressing slowly through my backlog. Had plenty of time to play co-op with my girlfriend, so we completed the entire Metal Slug series together. We also have a co-op save for Unsighted. In addition, I completed the Persona 3 remake, one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Quite interested in the new version of We Are Football and really hoping that Rise of the Ronin gets a PC release and that the rumors about SMTV are true.

For now, it's time to fulfill some promises and play Plague's Tale 2, Starcraft II, and Tengai Makyou Zero.

Quite a bit of progress this past month. It's been a long time since I played so much and with such quality. On top of that, I had a sudden hyperfocus on Age of Empires, something I loved when I was younger. Now I'm planning to replay what I already played and playing the DLCs I've never played. Of course I already beaten Age IV for the first time and did some DLCs and AOE2 campaigns.

Happy that the rumors about SMTV are true. What an insane year for Atlus, one of the games was already excellent and the other two are very promising. Also replayed Dino Crisis, something I've wanted to do for a long time. Happy they continue to be as good as in my memory. Also, did a small marathon with the last Mega Man games I haven't played.

The plans are to keep playing the first games on the list until Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance comes out, but anything is possible.

Added: Age of Empires IV, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, Gunner's Heaven, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Return of Rome, Mega Man ZX Advent, Maken X, Hollow Knight: Lifeblood, Hollow Knight: Lifeblood, Age of Empires II Definitive Edition, Age II The Conquerors, Age II The Forgotten, Age II The African Kingdoms, Age II Rise of the Rajas, Age II The Last Khans, Age II Lords of the West, Age II Dawn of the Dukes

Beaten: Age of Empires IV, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, Gunner's Heaven, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Return of Rome, Mega Man ZX Advent, Maken X, Unsighted, A Plague's Tale: Requiem, Genso Suikoden IV, Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Lifeblood, Hollow Knight: Lifeblood

Beaten (replay): Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2

Dropped: Age of Empires: Definitive Edition
