Games with multiple remakes

Today I learned that the industry really likes Tetris.

I'm not too heavily invested in the semantics so as a general rule of thumb, I will just list games here that are specifically listed by IGDB as being a "remake" of the original with some exceptions from other sources (unless someone wants to convince me in the comments that a game not fitting the above criteria should work, I'll hear you out). Also feel free to correct me if any listing within the notes isn't actually a remake.

I'll try to list every remake that I can find in the notes of each listing. Let me know if I'm missing any, and suggestions welcome for more entries!

Castlevania
Castlevania
Super Castlevania IV

Akumajou Dracula

Bonus: Castlevania Chronicles, a remake of Akumajou Dracula and thus another remake of a remake
Double Dragon
Double Dragon
Double Dragon Advance

Double Dragon

Also, see the Famicom collection remake

Dragon Quest II
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy
I have been told that these specific versions are remakes from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_(video_game), so consult that page for more details

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy

Bonus: Final Fantasy Pixel

Also, see the remake collection Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
Final Fantasy Adventure
Final Fantasy Adventure
Adventures of Mana

Sword of Mana
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis: Part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and described by Tetsuya Nomura as an alternate remake of Final Fantasy VII.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
Mystery of the Emblem's first half includes a remake of Shadow Dragon, and Mystery of the Emblem has also been remade, so this is our 3rd remake of a remake on a sort of technicality.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
King's Quest: Quest for the Crown
King's Quest: Quest for the Crown
King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown

Roberta Williams' King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown -> given a special fan license to remake the game

Also, the 1989 remake on the Sega Master System is listed as part of the 1984 originals page for some reason
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Klonoa

Also part of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards
Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded
Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition
Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition
This entry will also count for Pokemon Red/Blue (and Green I guess)

Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu

Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed

Prince of Persia
Prince of Persia
Prince of Persia (essentially a remake with a training mode attached)

Prince of Persia Classic
Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
IGDB does not seem to have an entry for the original 1984 MSX/PC-88 release, as this is the only page I could find, and is of the 1988 Famicom release, also linked to the 1991 NES release. There was also a mobile version released in 2004. Most of the changes as far as I can tell are graphical, though I'm told that the shift from the original to the Famicom/NES versions is a "near ground-up overhaul" that greatly increases the story's scope and revises the adventure game commands. More information can be found here
Resident Evil
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (referred to as an expanded game but feels close enough to other examples here in that it overhauls the game with optional "Rebirth Mode," with more enemies and new puzzles that utilize specific controls present only on the DS)

Resident Evil
Star Ocean: The Second Story
Star Ocean: The Second Story
A little bit of a technicality since Second Evolution is described as an "enhanced remaster" but series producer Yoshinori Yamagishi has also described them as remakes that are meant to feel like completely new games, so we'll take it

Star Ocean: The Second Story R
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Wikipedia describes both of the following re-releases as remakes.

Super Mario Bros Deluxe

Super Mario Bros (as part of the Super Mario All-Stars bundle)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
I'm told that these are remakes according to 87th and Wikipedia

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Hawk%27s_Pro_Skater_HD

Also part of the 1+2 remake

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Part of the 1+2 remake

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

Not on IGDB -> the remake of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego on Facebook: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_in_the_World_Is_Carmen_Sandiego%3F_(2011_video_game)

Bonus, also not on IGDB: A 1996 version that also has an updated version of its own. Its release is probably packaged on the original 1985 game page if I had to guess?
Ys: Book I & II
Ys: Book I & II
I will save myself the trouble of listing both Ys I and II separately because these are basically two parts of an entire product.

Ys I & II: Complete

Ys I & II Chronicles, also the Premium Edition

Ys DS & Ys II DS, also packaged as Legacy of Ys : Books I & II

Ys Eternal

Ys 2 Special
Ys IV: Mask of the Sun
Ys IV: Mask of the Sun
This one is sort of a technicality given that Memories of Celceta is described as a "reimagining," but from what I know Celceta is basically a remake of Mask of the Sun so it'll do. See here for a short summary. Don't confuse this with Dawn of Ys by the way.

Also, there's a PS2 remake of Mask of the Sun titled A New Theory that hasn't been translated yet.
Yume Koujou: Doki-doki Panic
Yume Koujou: Doki-doki Panic
i.e. the original Japanese release of Super Mario Bros 2, which is the American Port of this game

Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars bundle)

Super Mario Bros 2 (as part of Super Mario Advance)

Also, in my heart will always be AM2R, even though it was not official, it was superior to the one that was

I think DQXI technically could also be taken into account, as it was remade for the 3DS and also 16-bit style, they are 2 different versions of the same game categorized as ports, but given their differences they are actually remakes released simultaneously with the original PS4 game

@Maurith: DQXI seems like a bit of a stretch here to say it has multiple remakes, so I'll leave that one off for now. Everything else has been added though, thanks!
