There are basically two types of game here: games that you could beat in one sitting sight-unseen, and games that could be completed in a single sitting with lots of practice. For the sake of making a list that isn't stuffed to the gills with arcade titles, let's say that this is a list for games you could buy and beat in the same evening, without practice!

could vanquish really be done in one night? you’d have to be a pro gamer
it's like 4-5 hours, although i suppose that could be stretching it lol

The original Kirby's Dreamland and Super Mario Land 1 for the Game Boy are extremely short games. Maybe half an hour each on a first playthrough.

I agree Metroid you'd have to know before doing it in one night. Gato Roboto however I think fulfils that slot.

Sonic Blast might not be a game you WANT to beat in one evening, but you definitely can, only takes like an hour. Same with Ninja Gaiden Shadow, which takes about an hour to an hour and a half, both games definitely don't need practice.
Kirby's Adventure only takes about three hours and isn't all too challenging for most of it, so I feel a lot of people could just sit their ass down and crank it out in a night.
