Games Featured in "A Guide to Japanese Role-Playing Games" (Bitmap Books, 2021)

Book edited by Kurt Kalata

"Video role-playing games, adapted for computers from their pen-and-paper forebears, have been around since the earliest days of digital gaming. Despite initial similarities to Western games, Japan's output began diverging in dramatic ways, inspired by its own culture and art, producing a style of game that's often wildly different from its western counterpart. This tome explores the expansive history of Japanese role-playing games, beginning on 8-bit microcomputers, and following them all the way up to the heavy hitters of the modern era."

Nice! I was just looking through my copy and thinking how it'd be great to have a big list on Backloggd with all of the entries. Glad this means I didn't have to do it!

@bitterbatterdog wow, absolutely incredible, thank you so much for checking for those! What a huge help. They have been added and you are now getting a credit in the list description. Glad to see all those on BL! Now to find the time to drag them all to the right places on the list, lol.

I have this book! What do you think of it? So far I've found it to be kind of disappointingly shallow; like 1,000+ back-of-the-box synopses. Maybe I just haven't found the real meaty entries yet.
