GAMES

dark souls but fast and epic and nightmare lands makes my brain go YES YES YES
Devil May Cry 4's combat system but with an actual game to compliment it, cannot find me an action game that keeps me howling at each badass thing I accidentally do more than this.
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG
The presentation and storytelling is far less efficient than 2016's but especially with the dlc the combat in this game is literally unmatched in any fps, nothing else compares
Do not know what to say other than if you don't like this fuck you.
playing this game after 10 years of SWTOR is like coming out of an abusive relationship and realizing what being with someone who actually cares about you feels like
the ultimate way for me to tolerate roguelikes: just make everyone in in stupid hot
Manages the incredible feat of being one of the scariest things I have ever played while also looking like Half-Life
a near infinite sketch comedy series of you wearing the silliest outfits known to man and creating ironic deaths on the spot
The main story is kind of underwhelming especially compared to the first but that doesn't matter when you have the best cast in any rpg with a game dead set on focusing on them, Bioware will never make a game this good ever again.
The dumbest thing to make me sob uncontrollably ever made, peak of the series and it honestly isn't close.
The technical best game ever made, I cannot think of a single thing I would change, I did nothing but play this for a period of 6 months and I still have the entire map memorized.
People who don't like this are fucking cowards. While rougher than its predecessor (like everything ever made is), its atmosphere is perfect, it is tough as nails but incredibly fair (minus the shitty boost guardian), and it has easily the best area in the series. Fucking awesome.
I played through it once and really liked it, continued to think about everything in it for around a year, replayed it and adored every single thing about it, greatest score and greatest ending to ever grace a video game.
thank you countdown community
this is the smartest game ever made
Almost every actual bit of combat minus the final boss sucks, there are a couple real poor sl's, and the dub quality is all over the place. It is also the best JRPG ever made.
you already know
this game literally ruined my life
You need to mod it in to make it complete but when it is you will have a game that genuinely transcends its franchise to tell a truly original and compelling story with some of the strongest writing you will ever find, my standard for every game I ever play.
Nintendo is really lucky they know how to still make games this good.
open world rpgs are dead, why make them after this, fuck yourself ubisoft
gonna use this to filter all my water for now on
The only reason British people are still allowed to live is because of "Reyn Time"
Yeah the depth in the first game is gone but so is all the horrible dumb shit that ruins it
After an entire series of not very good plots about not much at all: Danganronpa V3 hits the ultimate swerve by having a phenomenal ending which manages to be genuinely thought-provoking. A surprise to be sure: but a welcome one.
if this game reaches its full potential it could be a genuine GOAT, already better than undertale in my eyes, cannot wait for chapter 7 in 2034
You gotta slam your way through it to know where to go on replays but those replays hit something else entirely
quirky game funny
didn't think this game could actually live up to its hype and yet it did, huge
suda51 mentally breaks me for 12 hours
Easily the best gameplay of the series. The multiplayer either makes me feel useless or like a god and that's how it should be.
The community features present in this game continue to absolutely blow my mind 13 years later.
The best campaign in the series, short but with no filler. The music sure helps too.
what
There is literally nothing at stake in the climax of this game but it is delivered in such a convincing way that you would be certain that if you died in the game, you would die in real life.
they actually did it holy shit
Really cool that that one weird game mentioned by that one guy on gaming forums in the early 10s has been gased up by big ass lady in the sequel to get this re-release to be an actual hit. That one guy on the forum was also absolutely correct
forever the best game with a dedicated piss button, death stranding could never
The best modern metroidvania, I do not make the rules.
Finally we have a persona re-release which is the unquestionable best way to play it, now give me a persona 3 where playing it doesn't make me want to die.
Handily the best game of the trilogy, 2's last case is the peak but moment for moment this is untouchable.
It is a testament to how good the writing in this game is that they put one of the most well loved villains in any vidya and put her in a potato as a funny sidekick and yet it feels fully natural
Maybe the most well paced game in history. May not be a horror game but there are 3 moments in it which had me shaking in me boots.
it really was the shadow of the colossus
if you didn't play this when it came out you will literally never understand and i am so sorry
First game I ever fell in love with, still the greatest plot swerve of all time 17 years later
Was worried that me playing it for the first time at my age and after I have played so many other 3d platformers would make it seem aged in comparison but it instead made it way cooler
Thought for ages the way people held up Mario was just outta blind nostalgia for a classic, played this and have never come close to thinking that again.
i mean, yeah
It does not matter if I am easily the worst out of this in my friend group every time I play it I have the time of my life.
There is literally no reason to play Bioshock when this exists
huge flex by nintendo by allowing this nightmare to get made
Is somehow both of the slickest crime thrillers that David Fincher wished he could write while also being a game where the best part about is the tedious task of checking your emails whilst chainsmoking
game coulda just coasted on style but you throw in that combat system and that cast? unfair
I just see Sony continuously try to best this game but it will literally never happen.
Goes on for around 3 hours too long but it makes up for that by being genuinely horrifying while also being a perfect adaptation of the Alien universe.
As fangames go this one goes truly above and beyond into being something else entirely.
The only one that is as good as people say it is, fix up the boss fights and this becomes near flawless.
i don't know how i beat this
I am absurdly terrible at 2d platformers and I have yet cleared all the b-sides, mainly by slamming my face against a brick wall.
The last third is messy but up to Ornstein and Smough it is basically flawless
do you think the people responsible for this game knew what they were doing? david wise in particular? i don't think so
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG (but in 2d)
Half-Life 2 but no filler, balls to the wall badass from start to end.

Iji

Undertale but smarter
I am utterly terrible at this game but it is one of the coolest thing I've ever played.
the real spec ops the line
choose life game
As a conclusion to a messy 17 year long story it manages to mostly not be a disaster, with the Disney worlds oozing with loads of charm.
the universal appeal game
Is it a poorly aged clunky mess: yes
Is it a perfect introduction to a truly well thought out and fully realized original sci-fi setting: yes.
Vanilla ME3 is a mixed bag with simultaneously the most exciting 3d shooter combat system I have ever played with truly satisfying conclusions to certain series long character and story arcs. It also has a truly abhorrent ending and an equally bad handling of other big pieces of story. With all the dlc and fan-modding it the ending the bad writing still jumps out when it shows, but itsmooths out enough of the bumps to feel like a strong conclusion to a wonderfully messy trilogy.
Threads that thin line of being goofy as all hell but genuinely horrifying. Sam Lake is the best writer in the business
Quite possibly the best boss lineup in any game.
Yes Kojima is a questionable writer at times but god damn he is one prophetic son of a bitch ain't he?
Genuinely horrifying, a more linear Metroid but you are so engrossed in what's happening that it doesn't even matter.
weird ass game, all over the place and handily a downgrade from the first 2 but in spite of that is still one of the coolest games ever
evil game to 100% but basically all killer no filler, rules so hard
like the most powerful sour candy of all time, infinitely full of character, charm and heart, suda51 does it again
gay lawyer game fun
my lifestyle determines my deathstyle
Rough around the edges but so charming and funny, the stretch of levels from the midpoint to right before the third act are unbeatable
I haven't fully completed Legends on my own so I'm just counting Origins but even just Origins is such an incredible breath of fresh air.
Just a cool ass game
resident evil games are hard to write funny little notes about bc the truly great ones are just so obviously good that it's unfair
Some genuinely subtle storytelling with a haunting atmosphere is enough to make me overlook what a waste of space the main character is.
heather deserves the world and then some, what a nightmare of a game
Lightsaber combat will never feel this good again.
Genuinely mind-blowing how on top of their game Nintendo were here, not every experiment works but it is dazzling to see them even try them.
Loses some of the atmosphere and mystique that makes the first so special but they push the gameplay so far that it barely even matters.
Greatest UI of all time
everything about the main campaign sucks but it doesn't even matter because there is no other game where walking from one place to another is so gratifying and exciting
childrens fairy tails gone sexual that does not suck, true miracle
Iji but dumber (and a far better cast)
